There was palpable joy at Ayeroju Nursery and Primary School, Oworonshoki, earlier today, as the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, formally launched the “Snacks for Thought” initiative under the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme. Pupils and teachers, visibly delighted, watched as breakfast snacks were served to mark the beginning of what promises to be a sustained intervention within the school.
For the Chairman, the moment carried weight beyond ceremony. He spoke of hunger as a quiet but real barrier to learning, one that often goes unnoticed in classrooms, and pledged that under his watch, no child in Kosofe would have to choose between an empty stomach and a full school day. He linked the gesture to the broader Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ vision, both anchored on investing in people.
The Chairman was joined by Mrs Folayan Adebisi, representing the project convener, Princess Aderemi Adebowale; Mrs Ayeni, Headmistress of the school; and Hon. Segun Babatunde, Chairman of the Kosofe Community Development Committee (CDC), all of whom commended the initiative as a welcome boost to pupils’ wellbeing and academic performance.
