What had become an eyesore and environmental hazard beside the bridge at Olopomeji, Oworonshoki, is no more. The Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government Area, Barr. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe, has ensured the evacuation of a notorious mountain of refuse that had long troubled residents of the area, and he is leaving no room for a repeat.
In clear terms, the Chairman warned that indiscriminate dumping at the site will no longer be tolerated. A dedicated task force – comprising community association members, environmental officers, and Lagos State Neighbourhood and Security Corps (LNSC) personnel – is now on 24-hour guard, with defaulters to face the full weight of Lagos State environmental law.
